What Thanksgiving Should be Like
We often associate Thanksgiving with things like Black Friday shopping, major discounts, travelling and Turkey. But by now we should all know that there'e more to Thanksgiving than just that. My little sister, Caroline, made a little note about the things that she is grateful about and I thought I would share it with you all :) It's a good reminder of how truly blessed we are.
I am thankful.
There Comes A Day, Where The Families Gather,
In A Time Of Giving And A Time Of Thanks,
And On This Day, I Am Truly Grateful For The Things In My Life
So let me begin this piece that i wrote,
a thought from my heart, a moment of love.
I’m thankful for my family, the ones who give me strength.
For the friends and people in my life that always make me smile.
I am thankful for my happiness, and the ability to love and care.
for creativity, and imagination, and the knowledge that I bear.
I am thankful for the adventures and journeys that I take.
From the vast blue seas, to the city of lights,
to the cool, crisp, and calming nights brilliantly filled with stars.
I am thankful for the rainy days,
for those are the days I reflect upon my future and goals.
I am thankful most wonderfully for my sleep,
for the dreams in my mind,
are soft white clouds protecting me.
Not only am I thankful for the accomplishments that I earned,
I am also thankful for the failures that I faced.
They shape me into who I am, and what I will become.
I am thankful for the ability to live, in a roofed house filled with food, laughter, and joy.
And after all I’ve said, I’ve realized that I could not be thankful for these things,
without my faith in the Lord whom I trust.
The creator of light,
and extraordinary living things,
Thank You for giving me a life worth living for.
